Abreast of Life wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for Jo-Ann's patience, great coaching skills, and love of life.
An avid volunteer since her high school days, Jo-Ann won a scholarship for community service from the Qualicum Bay Lioness Club. After moving to North Vancouver for college (Capilano and SFU) she held a variety of volunteer positions and while working at CIBC, she was the District/Regional Leader for their various fundraising campaigns (including Run for the Cure). Jo was also Director for various non-profit societies including North Shore Harvest Project, Pitt Meadow Community Foundation, the Children of the Street Society.
Her love of sport led her to coaching a number of teams for both adults and children. These have included CIBC, Fire Fighters, and Vancouver Police Department dragon boat teams and girls soccer teams in Oceanside. On top of all of this she is a Mum to two wonderful daughers..
We’ve been fortunate to have had Jo as our coach for the past five seasons.
All you have to have is a love for life after breast cancer, a desire to keep fit, and love of fun!
